The entrance examination briefing of the Department of Social Informatics, Kyoto University will be held using an online meeting. In the briefing we will introduce our department, the procedure of entrance examination, and each research group.
Please note that the briefing will in principle be given in Japanese. There will be a chance to talk to the teaching staff in English during the separate Zoom meetings at the end of the briefing.
Global networking is rapidly expanding via information technology. Based upon the trends of technologies, which penetrate our daily lives, the Department of Social Informatics seeks to clarify the structures of highly complex information societies and actually design information systems that are useful for the world. Therefore, we endeavour to support the globalized activities of humans in the areas of culture, economics, ecology, disaster management, healthcare and education.

The briefing is usually held in the lecture room of the Department of Social Informatics, Graduate School of Informatics. However, this year it will be held using a Zoom meeting to prevent new coronavirus infections.
We will send the detailed information, including how to attend the Zoom meeting, to the participants that register for the event.
